Heshy cooked up a real doozy this time...
He maintains that the reason that New York was hit by terrorists on September 11, 2001, was because of the passing of Rav Pam and Rabbi Miller earlier that year. And the only thing preventing terrorists from striking New York now is the Skuelener Rebbe.
Of course, I immediately asked him why they didn't protect us on February 26, 1993, the first time the World Trade Center was bombed. His "answer" to that was:
The 1993 attack was for another reason but I cannot disclose it for security reasons.
So, Heshy, are you privliged to know some special knowledge from Above regarding when and why attacks happen? Of course, you'll let us know in advance when the next one comes, right? (Lo Ta'amod...)
Of course, at the end of his post, he takes a pot-shot at the previous administration:
Only the merit of tzadikim (righteous sages) keeps our city safe; it is not the FBI, CIA or local police, because their hands are still tied by the previous Clinton administration’s liberal, pro-criminal attitude.
Which kind of leads one to question: If it's only the merit of our sages that keep us safe, what difference does it make what kind of attitude the last (or any other) administration has?

Wolf,
It's Heshy, we all know he's nuts. Why are you wasting your time on him?
It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Sometimes you like to have an easy target.
The Wolf
To clarify it a bit sharper:
When money is collected to hire guards for a Jewish city the Torah scholars are exempt. So if its the Rabbinic scholars in who's merit a city is protected than why hire a police force. But G-d wants us to do everything in a natural setting.Go to work, have doctor visits and support a police force. Its just on the surface going through the motions, but if G-d does not build or watch a city in vain do the workman build. So yes we do need an FBI but ultimatly the great Rabbis are the real determinators of success.
Thanks for the answer, Heshy, but it doesn't answer the question.
If, ultimately, success depends on whether or not there are righteous men in the city, then, ultimately, the actions of any political administration don't make that much of a difference.
Sure, I understand that you have to "go through the motions," but, in the end, even you have to admit that, according to your philosiphy, the Clinton administration really had no effect one way or the other.
The Wolf
They had no effect just as many evil individuals have no effect againsts the jews.G-d foils their plot but that does not exonarate them.
So, as long you agree that they had no effect, then you had no call to take a pot-shot at the Clinton administration.
The Wolf
The man is unforunately disturbed.
unfortunately
Wolf,
I don’t really understand your bemusement at Heshy’s break from reality. Aren’t you also a subscriber to the Talmudic ruling of, “malach hamaves mah lee hachah mah lee hasam – to the angel of death what difference does it make whether we are here or there.”
In other words, to predetermined death, what difference does it make if we are in a bunker with well prepared defenses, or standing on the front line inches from exploding mortars…it’s in god’s hands isn’t it? He attributes god’s decrees of life and death to hang upon the survival of rabbinic notables, and you attribute it to some equally farcical nonentity. What’s the difference?
There's a Dungeons-and-Dragons inspired card game called Munchkin, in which you deal cards to fight monsters, acquire protections of various kinds, and mess with your fellow players.
For example, suppose due to the inherent evil in the world of the game, I am attacked by a monster. I win the conflict, based on the level points I had acquired already, plus the fact that I was wearing the Flippers of Holiness which is plus three against this kind of monster, plus another player is under a curse, so they have to help me. Otherwise the monster would have eaten me.
It is a fun game, but I do not believe that God plays Munchkin with the Universe.
