On Good... Nay, Great News

It seems that Heshy is gone!

Personally, I can't say that I'm sorry to see him go. He was sort of a blogger arsonist - just throw something out there on the fire and see if it'll burn. I do, however, have one regret about his disappearing- he never ended up explaining on his blog why he was opposed to the concept of alien life. I would have liked (in a morbid sort of way) to have heard that.

So, BrooklynWolf, ever feel an urge to partake of his Shabbos hospitality? ;-)

Alas poor Heshy. I knew him, Horatio.

So Heshy disappears at about the same time that Shtreimel ostensibly reappears. Coincidence? I mean, is this like a Clark Kent/Superman situation, where nobody's seen them in the same place at the same time?

Is there an appropriate bracha for such an occassion? I can't say that Heshy was on the mark for a single issue.

Thats heshy
I remember him years ago when he was a major Jewish activist. He likes to tummle and disappear when he gets bored. But one thing about his shabbath meals,he never gets tired of that. I was at his house several years ago at this incredible chanukah party he threw. There were over 500 people from all over the place like sardines in a tent and his house. He is a very funny guy and really one of a kind. His extreme right wing views come from his political leanings but otherwise he is a bit shy and keeps to himself.

Actually, Anon, when I did my deconstruction of Heshy, I did note that I *did* agree with him on one issue.

chayim, i agree he was one of a kind. But he is a loon. I knew him from college.
he would tape himself calling all the radio stations, hocking them a tchienik, jdl, and other activities.

I still want to know where he got the money to feed so many people each week, and hand our $100 bills in Israel. The people who say they knew him on the various blogs are never names I recognize, I'd like to hear from someone who went to one of his meals. Can't one of the NY Bloggers attend one of his meals and report back>

Brooklyn (if I may call you by your first name),

I was very disappointed by your deconstruction of Heshy, who I dislike. Much of it was just making fun of his awkward writing. Big deal. Lots of people write awkwardly most of the time, and all of us do sometimes. It was good for some yux from those of us who also don't like Heshy, but it mostly didn't really quarrel with him about any of the issues.

Between Heshy's header and your deconstruction of it, "euthanasia" appears three times; it's spelled differently each time, and all three of the spellings are incorrect. Two of the three misspellings were from you. So let's say you did a serious posting on euthanasia (which I just typo'd and corrected) in which you misspelled it a few different ways and had a few awkward sentences. Then someone comes along and gets some yux out of the errors. The proper response is "so what?"

The deconstruction of Heshy was disappointing because I like and respect your postings, which are with that one exception written for an adult audience.

Now that Heshy is gone, I think I may have to start supporting the ban on the internet.

No, I don't know Heshy. I find it interesting that no one has published a last name for him. It's one thing to expose the identify of a pseudonymous blogger (although I use my real name), but if someone is inviting the world to his house, I'd think people would need to know what name to look for on the door. This all makes me wonder if it's all a hoax and he writes about the fancy meals and $100 bills because being perceived as rich is important to him.

How can I search DovBear's comments? I don't know how to do that at all (the comments link is in Javascript, I don't even know what site to search).

Nope, i've seen it. He publishes his address, and it's pretty recognizeable with his big hummer out in front. You can just walk in and look in the window Friday Night, see the people eating.

OK, I'll take your word for it.
