Well, it looks like Shmuzings tagged me with the 8 things meme -- after I had already completed it.
Nonetheless, I'm pretty sure I can do it again. So here you go... a bonus eight things about the Wolf.
1. The Wolf's favorite animal isn't the wolf. It's the hippopotamus (no, I'm serious).
2. When Eeees and I bought our house, we I took a picture of the basement and Photoshopped in a picture of an alligator. I then told our youngest daughter (then about seven years old) that it was to be her job to feed the alligator when we moved in to the house. I had her going for a few weeks (we didn't move in right away). The "feeding the alligator" bit is still a running gag in our house.
3. I delayed going to college for six months because I was afraid that if I asked my high school for my transcript, I would be kicked out and not graduate.
4. I am a voracious reader, yet I rarely use the library. I usually buy all of my books. This is because I re-read books all the time. Eeees, who for the most part, does not re-read books (although she reads quite a bit too), can't really understand why I buy books instead of borrowing them. I buy from Barnes & Noble at least once a week, and sometimes more often than that.
5. I am a ba'al kriah (the person who publicly reads the Torah) in shul and have been laining (reading the Torah) every* Shabbos and Yom Tov for the last nineteen years. And yes, I still do make stupid mistakes sometimes.
6. My favorite movie of all time is The Princess Bride. I never get tired of watching that movie. It's so rich in character, irony and quotable lines (there's *always* an occasion to quote a PB line). But I can't stand Buttercup.
7. About a ago, I made a decision to go through all of Shisha Sidrei Mishna (the 6 orders of Mishna) from start to finish. I'm currently in the middle of Niddah, which is toward the end.
8. I have some odd sensory issues. I cannot stand the sound of a cardboard box being slid across a wooden floor (I'm in shivers just typing this). Various other sounds that are perfectly fine for other people just drive me crazy.
The Wolf
* Not "every" one, of course. Sometimes there is a Bar Mitzvah in shul, or sometimes I may go away for the weekend for a family simcha. Other than that, however, it's pretty much every shabbos/yom tov.

4) I also love to read. I finish about three books on Shabbos when DB isn't with me. When he is usually only one or two. AND I'm totally with you on the re-reading. Bridge to Terabithia is one I read almost every year since i've been about 8... and no, I didn't see the movie.
6) The Princess Bride is such a funny and romantic movie.. nice to see a guy admitting he's a mush.
8) Styrofoam. can't touch it... and hate to hear it. cardboard I can handle
A mush???! Inconceivable!!
(See what I mean?)
The Wolf
1. We have the cutest collection of hippos ever!
2. I stuck a 3 foot long plastic alligator into her sleep-away camp suitcase this summer, and at least 3 of the letters mentioned that her alligator seems to have "run away"
4. B&N might close down if not for my Wolf ;)
5. Even with the occassional mistakes, you are still the best ba'al kriah I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. You are audible, well-paced, and pleasant to listen to. I truly love hearing you lain!
6. I sooo agree with you on Buttercup! Pretty, yes. Brainless, yes. Classical "helpless female" stereotype, YES.
Ok, occassionaly she has some really fantastic lines:
"You can't hurt me. Westley and I are joined by the bonds of love. And you cannot track that, not with a thousand bloodhounds, and you cannot break it, not with a thousand swords." But, for the most part she's just eye candy.
7. SO PROUD OF YOU!!
8. Odd sensory issues????? YOU?????
Naaaaah! (now kindly go handle an unwashed potato :P)
Many people have the same reaction to the scraping of cardboard and styrofoam. Drives my wife crazy, doesn't bother me at all. Here is a very interesting theory as to why it is so grating on people:

eees,
I love what you wrote to Wolf. It seems like you guys have such a wonderful relationship. Enjoy it and each other.... but beware of the alligator in the basement
2 is hilarious, 3 is sad but all too common...
I should do 5. I haven't lained in a few years, when I used to learn full parshiyos starting at 1230am Fri night. I don't think I could do that anymore. :( I think that the more you lain, the more you make the dumb mistakes. You start relying on your knowledge of how trops go and what you know, and then make the easy mistakes. Ah well.
Re: 7, I decided I want to finally go through Tanach - just straight, no meforshim the first time. I still haven't started. :(
i also have sensory issues, for me it's mostly textures that freak me out. and i find it practically impossible to fall asleep if there's anything but the barest amount of natural environmental light or sound. neighbors who play musical instruments drive me particularly batty.
come running,
Thanks for the compliment (I think we do too!)
As for the alligator, you only have to worry about it if your the youngest child in the family. As Wolf and I are both firstborns, we're safe! (Besides, didn't I mention he went to camp with our daughter? :))
(Ooops! That should have read "you're"!)
Cool! I'm going to post another 8 myself!
I feel about Seinfeld the way you do about TPB- there's always a quite for any situation.
Steg,
I also have sensory issues with certain textures as well. As eeees pointed out, I have difficulty holding a dry potato. It's just too... gritty to hold on to. Once it's wet, however, it's fine.
I have the same issue with Pita bread. I like to eat it, it just irks me to have to touch it with my hands. It's too... gritty.
The Wolf
Heh, I also love to re-read books over and over, that's why I only go to the library if i'm not too sure about the book. As for the alligator thing, I once did something a bit like that to my brother, but I was mean. I told him that his toy dinosaurs came alive if you put them in the bath. He was in the bath at the time and he completly freaked, For the rest of the time we lived in that house, he didn't sleep in his bedroom. I know, it's cruel. Also, I love the PB, I keep telling myself I'll buy it but...oh well. I have those exact same sensory issues.
I also love the Princess Bride, but I fear that many of the younger generation have never seen it...I try to get every teenager to watch it once, usually they are hooked.
I have to agree with your wife on not buying books. I do like to reread books, but I would spend a fortune without the library. :)
